| Welcome to Assessment, Research, and Evaluation | ||
| Assessment, Research and Evaluation is a department within Educational Services. We manage Essential Learner Outcomes (ELOs) test development, Nebraska State Assessment (NeSA) testing, norm-referenced testing, data reporting to buildings and our Board of Education, and MPS program evaluations. Purposes of Assessing District-wide assessment serves multiple purposes. Millard administers a number of assessments between 2nd and 11th grade to ensure that students are able to perform up to our district standards, which we refer to as our Essential Learner Outcomes (ELOs). This is detailed in Board Policy 6315 and Rule 6315.1 titled Millard Education Program – Use of Assessment Data. Starting in the spring of 2010, all Nebraska students participated in state-wide testing called NeSA. In the 2010-2011 school year, our 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 11th grade students will participate in State Reading (NeSA-R) and State Math (NeSA-M) tests. This common test allows comparison between districts in Nebraska. We also administer to 3rd, 6th, and 9th grade students the Terra Nova, a nationally normed standardized test, so that we can evaluate how our students and programs compare to nationwide norms. Information about the District is located in the folder titled Statistical Information. Information about a specific MPS building is located in the folder titled Building Information. The State of the Schools Report for the Millard Public Schools and its individual buildings, compiled by the Nebraska Department of Education, can be found at http://reportcard.education.ne.gov/Main/Home.aspx. |
